Yulia is a researcher, designer & artisan focussed on humanising wearable technology.
Yulia began her explorations in computer science at Saint Petersburg University (SPBGU) in early nineties. During the same time, she started creating bespoke artifacts, using modern and traditional techniques of applied arts with emphasis on silversmithing, embroidery and textiles. After graduating from Maryland Institute College of Arts (MICA), USA in 1999, Yulia enjoyed fruitful international career as a commercial designer and independent artisan. In 2013 Yulia joined a doctoral program at the Media & Arts Technology Center (MAT) at Queen Many University of London. She is now exploring the exiting field of wearable technology under supervision of Dr. Anne Hsu and Dr. Akram Alomainy.
